Modeling Projects

 and Prototype Inspirations

This page will be a portal to get to several modeling projects I'm working on, have finished, or just wish to work on. It'll be a place to link to resources used in the making of the model, of web pages found or created that either chronicle the prototype as it was or the model as I work on it. Maybe even some techniques or hints, if I can ever come up with an original idea.

Whatever.

Here's some pages to check out:

--Northern Pacific 50' Brainerd-built double door boxcars

--Northern Pacific 42290, a 1940-built 10'0" high 6' door boxcar, as it appears currently in Saginaw, Texas

--Upgrading the Athearn/Details West 50' RBL, using new sides and ends, to better model NP's green "orange stripe" RBL cars

--Upgrading the old MDC50' Plug Door RBL, to create a model of Southern Pacific's early-1960's B-70-1 through B-70-9 cars manufactured by Pacific Car & Foundry

--Creating WWV's two HH660's, 770 and 775, using Proto2000 S-1's and resin long-hood casting.

As always, this site will be updated as I have the time. Which should probably be spent building models, anyway. . .
